2010 Monster Energy® AMA Supercross, an FIM World Championship
Anaheim 1 ~ January 09, 2009

Round 1 of the 2010 Monster Energy AMA Supercross Championship was a great success, not only for the young guns on today’s racing circuit, but for entire vintage community.  The Legends & Heroes Tour staff were on hand throughout the day in the pits and at a display specifically designed to showcase machines from the past.  Thousands of spectators past by the booth, talking to the Legends staff and Cal-VMX members who volunteers and displayed their racing machines, mostly about how to get involved in vintage racing.  Race Fans got to meet some of their favorite heroes like “The Professor” Gary Bailey and “To Tall Bell” Mike Bell.

Later in the day and just before the opening ceremonies, with help from “Motocross Files” producer Todd Huffman, Alex Moroz & Tami Greenhill presented Mike Bell with a Legends Award.  Mike was the 1980 Supercross Champion and still races today locally with Cal-VMX and AHRMA.  Mark Martin, an AHRMA/Cal-VMX member, provided the Yamaha that was on stage during the presentation and often donates his machines for such Legends to compete on throughout the year.

About the Tour
The Legends & Heroes Tour is a national display of historical MX history that includes the machines and the champs of Motocross. The tour will be present at all 16 Monster Energy® AMA Supercross, an FIM World Championship events. The project was conceived by a dedicated group of Motocross enthusiasts who, over the years, have discovered the value of the rich 40+ years of Motocross legacy and its’ impact on the American motor sports history.
